Achieve your sustainability goals with net zero plastics

Feeling the pressure to embrace sustainability? Be part of leading the green transition by harnessing the power of natural materials through Lignin Industries' groundbreaking CO2 negative innovation RENOL®.

Lignin Industries is dedicated to transforming lignin into a catalyst for making plastics more environmentally friendly.

Lignin, typically burnt during the pulping process, is the brown part of wood.

Lignin Industries has developed the conversion of this abundant forest by-product into a scalable, carbon-negative solution that can be used to develop net-zero plastics applications.

Doing this, we provide a solution for reducing CO2 emissions from plastics while increasing the value of forest resources.

RENOL®

Locally sourced carbon negative material

Net Zero Products

  • RENOL® is 100 % biobased and has a carbon footprint (LCA) of -1.9 kg CO2/kg

  • Mixing RENOL® with recycled materials and/or biomaterials can generate carbon-neutral end products.

Recyclability

  • RENOL® is proven to be very stable during recycling,  keeping its properties during many recycling cycles. RENOL® slows down the breakdown of PE and ABS in recycling processes.

  • At least 20% of RENOL® in PE and PP material compounds works well in recycling processes.

Product Features

  • Temperature: RENOL® is temperature resistant and can be processed at 230o Celsius.

  • Processability: RENOL® can be implemented in already existing plastic processes and does not require any investments from the converters and compounders.

  • Locally sourced: In contrast to many other natural biomaterials our raw material lignin is sourced from forests in northern Europe.

Source sustainable materials locally for many different applications

It shouldn’t be difficult to switch from conventional plastics to natural materials and reduce CO2 emissions.

RENOL® offers a seamless solution for complying with sustainability regulations and taking the lead with eco-friendly materials. Our RENOL® can be efficiently manufactured on a large scale using existing converting machinery, and a range of ready-to-use products are already accessible through our trusted partners.

  • Consumer Packaging

Our net zero lignin biomaterials enable truly sustainable e-commerce bags made of lignin.

  • Industry Packaging

Lead the pack in sustainability with a net zero plastic film. Through partners we offer packaging wrapping films for different industry products such as timber, wooden floorings, etcetera.

  • Other Applications

Through partners we are currently developing applications within electronics, construction, home appliances and automotive for reducing the fossil use of polypropylene and ABS plastics.
